Occupy Buffalo members create second site at Lafayette Square

Some members of the Occupy Buffalo movement moved their tents a couple of blocks away from Niagara Square to Lafayette Square.

But Lafayette Square has been designated by the city as an alternative site only for the protesters if there is a snow storm.

Occupy members are breaking the agreement hammered out with the City.  WBFO'S Eileen Buckley spoke with Occupy member Chris Phillips of Buffalo who moved to the Lafayette site.

"We have every right to Lafayette as they do to Niagara," said Phillips. We are going to stay here and support our freedom of speech and assembly."

Phillips and others who split from Niagara Square say they selected the Lafayette site because is across the street from an army recruitment office and near major banking corporations that they are targeting with their message against the war and corporate greed.
