Penn State scandal strikes home in Buffalo

The scandal that has rocked Penn State University has brought the spotlight on child sexual abuse to Buffalo.

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky is accused of sexually abusing numerous young boys, and the allegations have cost college football legend Joe Paterno and other school officials their jobs. Members of the Western New York Penn State Alumni Association gathered at McCarthy's Irish Pub in South Buffalo to watch yesterday's game against Nebraska. Association president Douglas Kellner claimed the gathering was bigger than the game.

Indications are that the drive was well on its way to its goal as the game was ongoing. The fallout from the scandal at the university is expected to continue for some time.
