Buffalo, NY – The man who was convicted of making false statements to federal agents about a military contract was sentenced to serve probation and ordered to pay restitution.
A United States District Judge sentenced 55-year old Denis Converse of Bergen to five years probation and ordered him to pay $311,020.55 in restitution.
The United States attorney's office says the employee of Lynx Machine and Tool, a company that supplied parts for military contracts, falsified and altered reports and certifications that were required as part of the government contracts.
As a result, Converse falsely certified to the Department of Defense that the parts manufactured by the company had undergone required testing, when they had not been tested.
