Buffalo, NY – Members of the 107th Airlift Wing from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Center will be deployed to assist with the clean up in New York State after Hurricane Irene.

45 members of the 107th Airlift Wing are heading Saturday from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Center.

The airmen will be joining a 900 member National Guard task force that is being mobilized by Governor Andrew Cuomo to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

The task force will assemble in the Hudson Valley and await further deployment orders. They will be stationed at Camp Smith near Albany, NY.

The airmen will remain in place at the center to ride out the storm. They will then immediately respond to aid civil authorities in New York City and Long Island.
