Buffalo, NY – A service was held on Saturday to honor the legacy of Sister Karen Klimczak.

The annual "Pledging and Remembering" service was held at Ephesus Ministries on Grider Street. In 2006, Klimczak was killed by a resident at Bissonette House, where she worked to assist parolees after their release from prison. Attendees at the service pledged to promote peace and to become more peaceful in their own actions.

Peace activist Maggie McAloon claims that homicide victims are remembered as well.

The service was followed by a Peace March along a portion of Grider Street that has been named in Sister Klimczak's memory.
