Former Williamsville North advisory faces statutory rape

Buffalo, NY – A former Williamsville North High School advisor was arrested and charged for endangering the welfare of a child.

24-year-old Andrew Girling of Amherst is also charged charged with statutory rape for carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female student.

Girling worked as a part-time, student club advisor and technical director at the school from August 2007 through June of last year.

The Williamsville Central School District issued a written statement on its Website saying it was notified by Amherst Police of the arrest. The District says it is cooperating fully with police in their investigation.

The Williamsville Central School District has been notified by the Amherst Police Department that an arrest has been made in a case involving a former part-time advisor for an extracurricular club at North High School who was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student who was 15 at the time of the incident and attended another Williamsville school. The individual was employed by the District for three years, from 2007-2010, as a club advisor; he did not work at the school this past year. The district is cooperating fully with the police in their investigation. All questions regarding the investigation and the arrest should be directed to the APD at 689-1393.
