Amputees tee off in Hamburg golf tournament

By Michael Mroziak

Hamburg, NY – The third annual Buffalo Amputee Golf Classic was held on Thursday, July 7 at Brierwood Country Club in Hamburg.

WBFO's Michael Mroziak tells us about the Buffalo Amputee Golf Tournament, which features several players who keep teeing off even after they've lost a limb.

108 participants took part in the third annual Buffalo Amputee Golf Classic. Nearly 20 of them were amputees.

The tournament was led by Peter Fenn, a longtime golf pro who lost his leg in 2007 as a result of medical complications from his exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

The tournament not only gives amputees a chance to bond and remain dedicated to living life as fully as possible, but also this year presented a scholarship to the son of a local amputee.
