Former Western New Yorker dies from injuries suffered in Afghanistan

By Mark Scott

Cuba, NY – The war in Afghanistan has claimed the life of another Western New York member of the armed forces.

Marine Corps Sergeant Mark Bradley, who grew up in the Allegany County community of Cuba, died Thursday of injuries he suffered two weeks ago in the explosion of an improvised explosive device. He was 25 and was deployed to Afghanistan in March.

Bradley was married and had been living near Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has ordered all state flags to fly at half-staff next Tuesday in Bradley's honor.
