Buffalo, NY – The Broadway Market in Buffalo officially kicked off the Easter season Friday.
The Market, known for its rich history of serving Easter shoppers on Fillmore Avenue, held a ceremonial ribbon cutting. This officially opens the Market for the Eastern Holiday season.
Hours will be extended and special programs and events will be featured.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, city and religious leaders joined Broadway Market leaders Friday afternoon.
Polish dancers and music played to entice shoppers to check out all the famous Easter holiday and Polish traditions featured at the Market.
Over 60 vendors feature fresh hams, butter lambs, pierogi, sausage, fish, baked goods, wines and specialty crafts, including traditional wooden Easter Eggs.
The Broadway Market will be open extended hours during the Easter Season. This includes special Sunday hours on April 10, 2011 and April 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
