Msgr. Burkard explains long journey toward Father Baker's canonization

Buffalo, NY – The cause for Father Nelson Baker's canonization has stretched more than 20 years, yet there still remains some confusion, as to how a person becomes a Saint in the Catholic Church.

Msgr. Paul Burkard, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Basilica and promoter of the cause for Father Baker's journey toward Sainthood says some of that uncertainly lies in the fact that the process, though in place for centuries, is without precedent for anyone who has served in the Diocese of Buffalo.
