Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory for the northern half of Western New York, including Buffalo, from 7pm Sunday through 11am Monday.

Heaviest precipitation is expected during the overnight hours. Three to five inches of snow could fall in the metro Buffalo region by daybreak with another one to two inches Monday.

A winter storm warning from 7pm Sunday through 11am Monday covers the Southern Tier counties where accumulations will be greater -- in the five to nine inch range by Monday morning with another inch or two during the day. Sleet and freezing rain could mix with the snow near the Pennsylvania state line.
