Buffalo, NY – The events ongoing in Egypt have drawn responses from two of New York State's federal lawmakers.

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says the world is witnessing an incredible moment for freedom and a transition to a real democratic society in Egypt. Western New York Congressman Brian Higgins calls the events in Egypt a "great victory for human kind." Higgins believes that President Obama effectively used the leverage of the United States to help push Mubarak to step down.

Higgins calls the events in Egypt "extraordinary." He says it was a historic day not only for the Egyptians, but the entire Middle East. New York.
