Buffalo, NY – The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority today appointed the first woman executive director in the agency's history Monday.
45 year old Kimberly Minkel was named to succeed Lawrence Meckler. He stepped down after 34 years at the NFTA, 12 as its chief.
Minkel was picked from among the ranks. She was the NFTA's director of health, safety and environmental quality.
Minkel has an MBA from Canisius College, with more than twenty years experience in compliance management in both the private and public sectors. Minkel says she's well-qualified.
Minkel will be paid $170,000 a year. That's $23,000s less than Meckler was earning when he left the post.
