Opt Out Day has no impact at Buffalo Niagara International Airport

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – It appears travelers at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport did not take part in a protest Wednesday against tough, new screening procedures. Volume was heavy on what is normally the busiest travel day of the year. But security lines were moving smoothly at the airport.

There was an Internet campaign to get airport passengers across the nation to protest tougher security measures by opting out of the full body scans in favor of more time-consuming pat-downs.

Extra security staffers were on hand at the airport to handle the heavy volume.
