Program for those who have lost a loved one to suicide

By Chris Jamele

Buffalo, NY – A program for family members and friends who have lost loved ones to suicide was held Saturday.

Sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Twelfth Annual National Survivors of Suicide Day Program will be held in the Buffalo Psychiatric Center's Butler Rehabilitation Center Auditorium on Forest Avenue.

The local program is one of nearly 300 that are taking place around the world and will include a webcast and presentations from medical experts, therapists and family members who have lost loved ones to suicide. Local panelist Philip Chearmonte claims the atmosphere is non-threatening and attendees are welcomed to participate in the discussion or simply to absorb the information and the experience.
