Buffalo, NY – Nationally renowned author and environmentalist Bill McKibben is the key note speaker on Saturday for a Western New York Environmental Congress sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Buffalo.

McKibben has been called the world's best, green journalist. He leads the global climate change activism effort,350.org. That number represents the highest parts per million of carbon dioxide that is safe for the earth's climate.

WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with McKibben about how the organization is working to mobilize citizen environmentalists.

McKibben's lecture at the WNY Environmental Congress is at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at City Honors School in Buffalo. The lecture is part of the WNY Environmental Congress that runs from 9:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. Both the lecture and the all-day event are free and open to the public. Registration and program information are available at growwny.org.
