National Grid blasted for proposed rate hike

By Chris Jamele

Buffalo, NY – US Senator Charles Schumer is being joined by customers, regulators and the Attorney General in Massachusetts in blasting National Grid for its proposed eleven percent rate increase, totaling three hundred an nine million dollars.

The utility claims to have cut its request by four million dollars. Detractors claim that the rate increase is being targeted for use to offset frivolous personal expenses for company executives.

It has been ten years since upstate New York has seen a rate increase from the company.
