Buffalo, NY – Mayor Byron Brown has ordered the hiring of armed security guards to assist with maintaining order at the city's public pools.
The Buffalo News reports that a rash of violent and unruly acts have forced the move, with one lifeguard being treated at a local hospital for injuries suffered when a group of teens threw her into a pool.
The recent stretch of hot weather has caused a larger than average influx of youths at the city's pools.
