Buffalo, NY – A plan for revitalizing neighborhoods around the University at Buffalo's Main Street campus is getting support from Cheektowaga, the Town of Tonawanda, Amherst and Erie County. The City of Buffalo, however, has not signed onto the project as yet.
The Buffalo News reports that monies from President Obama's Sustainable Communities Initiative could help stabilize and develop at risk neighborhoods around the campus. Mayor Brown has not agreed to the effort possibly because of a rift with the developer.
Proponents of the project are hoping to get Buffalo on board.
