Buffalo, NY – An investigation by a governor's counsel has concluded that political operative Steven Pigeon has exhibited a pattern of violations against election laws.
The Buffalo News reports that the findings will be turned over to the US Attorney's office in Manhattan for further action instead of having a special prosecutor appointed by the governor.
The action follows allegations by former Erie County prosecutor Mark Sacha that District Attorneys Frank Clark and Frank Sedita refused to investigate Pigeon based on political connections.
Sacha now claims that Pigeon's connections to the principals in the ongoing gubernatorial race are preventing the appointment of a special prosecutor.
