Buffalo, NY – Members of the CSEA union have soundly defeated a contract proposal pitched by Erie County. The contract failed by nearly one thousand votes.
Though the new contract did include raises, it failed due to demands for increased employee health insurance contributions by current employees and new hires.
The parties have the option of returning to the bargaining table, though if no progress is made a neutral third party will be consulted for recommending a settlement.
