<i>Business First</i> ranks Transit Middle as region's top middle school

Buffalo, NY – Business First released its middle school rankings Wednesday. Transit Middle School in Williamsville is the repeat winner on the strength of high test scores in math and English.

"We have a great population of kids. They work hard," Jill Pellis, Transit's principal, said. "Their parents value education. They believe in us. And our teachers, well, we just hire the best and get out of their way."

Christ the King School, a private school in the Amherst school district, ranked second. Buffalo City Honors finished third.

The rankings are based on four years of test scores compiled by the State Education Department.

Here is the ranking of the top 25 middle schools:
