Buffalo, NY – This week nine of the world's most virtuosic guitarists are in Buffalo for the renowned JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition. Three finalists were selected Wednesday night for the final round Friday night. Guitarists from Russia, France and Serbia will perform at Kleinhans with Falletta and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Artyom Dervoed of Russia, Thomas Viloteau of France, and Nemanja Ostoji of Serbia will compete Friday for first place.

The competition is presented once every two years. WBFO's Joyce Kryszak talked with the event's artistic director Joanne Castellani. She explains the arduous year-long process competitors must go through just to be considered.
