Cattauragus County, NY – The Cattauragus Arts Council has mapped out an even bigger "Routes to Art" event for the coming weekend.

Last year more than one thousand people from across the state, Pennsylvania and Canada trekked all over Cattauragus county in search of great artwork. There was plenty to be found in every corner of the county.

The self-guided, open studio adventure featured forty artists from various disciplines. The ambitious cultural tourism event won an award for excellence from the state travel and vacation association.

Anne Conroy-Baiter is executive director for the Cattauragus Arts Council. She said attendance is steadily up, despite the bad economy.

And there is more of it to enjoy than ever. This year 43 artists are opening their doors for you to come see what they do. There are painters and potters, water colorists and woodworkers, bead makers and basket makers, sculptors, Seneca artsists and more. Conroy-Baiter said take your pick and plan your trip accordingly.

More information is available on the web at Routes to Art.
