State budget moves to close local parks

By Chris Jamele

Buffalo, NY – New York State's financial struggles will directly affect Western New York on Monday as a number of state parks and historic sites are scheduled to be closed.

The move is expected to save the state nearly twelve million dollars. According to the Buffalo News, the Knox Farm, Woodlawn Beach and Wilson-Tuscarora state parks are among those tabbed for closure.

In another cost saving measure, better than one billion dollars in school aid payments that are due on June first are expected to be delayed.
