Schumer Says Bills Owner Not in Contact with California Suitor

US Senator Charles Schumer

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – US Senator Charles Schumer says he's had a phone conversation with Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson about reports that a California real estate company has its eye on the Bills franchise.

An official with the Majestic Real Estate Company in Los Angeles said they're targeting the Buffalo and Jacksonville franchises for relocation to a new state-of-the-art stadium they're building. Schumer says he was assured by Wilson that there has been no contact with that company.

Schumer says Wilson is committed to Western New York.

"Ralph Wilson flatly told me that the Bills are staying in Buffalo. Period. I have long fought to keep the team here, and will continue to do so with every bit of clout I have," Schumer said. "Buffalo Bills fans can rest a little bit easier tonight."
