Buffalo, NY – The bicentennial of the War of 1812 is two years away.
The Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council is working on raising public awareness of this region's role in the war. Council officials held a news conference in Buffalo Thursday. Executive Director Vincent Del Buono says interest in the war is high on both sides of the border.
A new web site, www.discover1812.com, has been launched that lists 125 points of interest in the border region related to the war of 1812.
