CPB's Vincent Curren: Public Radio Needed More Than Ever

CPB Executive Vice President Vincent Curren
CPB Executive Vice President Vincent Curren

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – Since its creation in 1967, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has fostered the growth of public radio and television in the United States. CPB's executive vice president and chief operating officer, Vincent Curren, came to Buffalo yesterday to honor WBFO as part of its 50th anniversary.

Curren is no stranger to Buffalo. He's a graduate of the University at Buffalo and WBFO. He's former general manager of WXPN in Philadelphia and was the CPB's senior vice president for radio before assuming his current position in 2006.

Curren joined WBFO's Mark Scott to talk about the state of public broadcasting. Click the audio player above to hear their conversation now or use your podcasting software to download it to your computer or iPod.
