Buffalo, NY – In recent months, several black bears have been spotted in residential areas across the region.

The State DEC is hosting a round public informational meetings. The first session was held last night in Lockport. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked to wildlife biologist about the growing bear population.

The DEC will host another public meeting Thursday night at the public library on Losson Road in Cheektowaga. A third session is set for next Tuesday night in Lancaster.
