Buffalo, NY – The third annual Gay Pride Flag raising was held Friday during the noon hour in Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo.

The gay pride rainbow flag was raised on the flag pole across from City Hall. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown joined this year's Pride Parade Grand Marshall Madeline Davis.

Members of the Buffalo area's gay and lesbian community waved rainbow flags kicking out Pride Buffalo 2009 Weekend. This year's theme is "Out is In".

On Sunday the annual Pride Parade kicks off at 1 p.m. from the Belmont Shelter Corporation on Main Street at Dodge. The parade will head up Summer Street to Elmwood Avenue, then proceed to Bidwell Parkway for a celebration.
