Mary Kate O'Connell
Mary Kate O'Connell

By Jim Santella and Anthony Chase, WBFO

Buffalo, NY – Jim and Tony enjoyed Mary Kate O'Connell in the Buffalo United Artists production Souvenir, at Alleyway Theatre. Last year she performed as singer Florence Foster Jenkins in Glorious. In Souvenir it's a different story, but the same character. Also at the Alleyway, in the Main Street Cabaret Theatre, Buffalo playwright Beth Geyer's Real Fantasy is a show of five connected short stories. Continuing at the Irish Classical Theatre, it's Eugene O'Neill's only comedy, Ah, Wilderness!, which includes WBFO's Kelli Bocock-Natale and a UB student named Louis Napoleon. The Theatre of Youth is opening The Secret Life of Girls at the Allendale Theatre, and Tony's luggage got another workout, this time to West Palm Beach where he saw Valerie Harper as Tallulah Bankhead in Loot.
