Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says as the future of the Statler Towers remains uncertain, the City is keeping a close watch on structural issues.

Three years ago a young, an ambitious British developer bought the Statler. He promised renovations and the creation of a new hotel, office, retail and even residential space. But today the project is on hold. 28 year old Bashar Issa doesn't have the cash to conduct the more than 100-million dollar project. Efforts by some investors to buy the developer out also fell through. But now Mayor Brown is waiting to see what happens next.
