Arrests in Christmas Day Shooting of West Seneca Woman

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Police say they have arrested two teenagers in connection with the murder of a West Seneca woman. 18 year old Sarah Ernst was shot after leaving a house party on 14th Street in the early morning hours on Christmas day.

Ernst was shot in the head and died a short time later. 19 year old Breion Collins of Buffalo was also shot in the stomach with Ernst and was wounded. He has since been released from the Erie County Medical Center.

Buffalo Police held a news conference late Friday morning at Police Headquarters in downtown Buffalo. They say they arrested 18 year old Miguel Torro-Torres and an unnamed 15 year old male. They are charged with second degree murder and attempted murder.

Homicide detectives told reporters they believe the shootings were a case of mistaken identity and the victims were shot in gang violence.
