Buffalo, NY – The US Senate recently confirmed President Bush's appointment of Buffalo native Anthony Gioia to the United Nation General Assembly. Gioia served already served as the Ambassador to Malta from 2001 to 2004.

Gioia has been a strong supporter to Republicans. He's conducted fundraising for President Bush, Rudy Giuliani and most recently hosted a fundraiser at his Buffalo home for Senator John McCain. But in his newly appointed role, Gioia says he is not allowed to talk politics.
