City Hall's Top Floor will get Makeover

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says City Halls top floor will under go a makeover.

Brown announced that the City will spend $20,000 to help transform the Observation deck on the 28th floor into a visitor friendly environment.

Brown also announced plans to improve maintenance within the entire building. He says an inspection and daily maintenance scheduled will be put into place.

But the Mayor denied that this is in response to today Buffalo News article highly critical of the interior condition of City Hall and the observation deck. He says changes to the observation deck have been in the works for some time.

"I don't respond to articles. I don't plan on responding to articles. I have have the resonsiblity of managing this government. We will do that based on the information and based on the resources we have, and not based on what people write in articles," said Brown.

The Buffalo Arts Commission is working with the City to to add new historical photos throughout the space of the observation deck. New signage will also be added to explain the significance of the view of Buffalo.
