Buffalo Lawmaker Urges Parents to Watch their Children

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo lawmaker is urging parents to keep a close eye on their children. This follows Sunday's near drowning of a 12 year old boy in a North Buffalo pool.

Three boys hopped the fence that surrounds the Shoshone Pool off Hertel Avenue. It was closed at the time, but they jumped in. That's when one of the boys sunk to the bottom. He was rescued and resuscitate by Buffalo Fire Fighters.

The pool's is located in the University District. Common Council member Bonnie Russell says ironically she recently issued a newsletter to district residents warning them about keeping children safe.
