Dr. Peter St. Jean, Lessons from Homicides: The Buffalo Story
Dr. Peter St. Jean, Lessons from Homicides: The Buffalo Story

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A UB professor is using his documentary called "Lessons from Homicides" to launch discussions in the Buffalo community as part of violence prevention and conflict resolution workshops. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked to Dr. Peter St. Jean about efforts to stop violence on the streets.

St. Jean is an assistant professor in UB's sociology department. He says workshops are already underway. One was held this past weekend. The next will take place July 12th at the Delavan Grider community Center.

St. Jean's film explores the lessons learned those who have had direct experience with homicides. Now he wants his film to be part of the solution to violence and improving the quality of life in Buffalo.
