Council Leader Fires Back Over Broadway Market Claims

Broadway Market, Buffalo, NY

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – The Broadway Market will hold a public meeting Thursday. Market leaders want to address the recent reports that the Market must re-image itself in order to survive.

WBFO'S Eileen Buckley talked to one City lawmaker who is critical of Market operations.

The Broadway Market is claiming the City failed to provide a $1 million bond promised several years ago. It also accuses Buffalo Common Council president and Fillmore District representative David Francczyk for his criticism of the Market and its management. But Council president Franczyk is firing back.

WBFO News tired to reach the Market's executive director Richard Fronczak for an interview, but he was no available. He is not related Council member Franczyk. Their last names are spelled different. Thursday's public meeting takes place at Noon at the Broadway Market.
