Suspended South Buffalo Charter School Teacher Is Fired

By WBFO News

Buffalo, NY – The teacher alleged to have an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student has been fired.

Cara Dickey, 29, of Clarence disappeared after being suspended, and leaving the South Buffalo Charter School Monday. She was found Tuesday morning asleep in her vehicle by police in Springville.

The eighth grader also left the school on Monday, without being noticed. He was found the next day, unharmed, in Hamburg.

Earlier this week, school administrator Dr. Cedrick Ellis said inappropriate text messages between the two were seized and turned over to authorities.

Another eighth grade student, Alex Artemis, says Dickey is being wrongly targeted.

Cara Dickey has not been back to her Clarence home since Monday. Her husband's attorney tells the Buffalo News that Roy Dickey has been focusing on caring for their three young children this week.
