Mayor Denies Several Rumors

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown issued an unexpected written statement late Thursday afternoon. Brown is denying rumors that he is part of a FBI probe that would lead to his resignation.

Mayor Brown says rumors that he is going to resign are politically motivated. Brown says several rumors have been circulating. Brown also denied a rumor that he is being considered for high-level federal or state appointments.

The rumors surfaced Thursday morning on Western New York Politics, a Website that concentrates on politics news and public opinions. Glenn Gramigna operates the site and wrote the story. He says the rumors claim Brown would be linked to the on-going Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority investigation. But he emphasized that he has no confirmation the rumors are true.

In his written statement, Brown said clearly and sadly the rumors were politically motivated.
