City-County Parks Merger Undergoing Review
By Eileen Buckley
Buffalo, NY – The City-County Parks merger is undergoing a reevaluation. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says he is currently reviewing the agreement with the Erie County Executive.
The Parks deal was created a few years ago during the height of the City's fiscal crisis. Under the deal, the County is to maintain the parks while it the City is responsibility for capital improvements. But some have been critical that the agreement is not being met. However, Brown says he and County Executive Chris Collins are not letting terms of the deal stand in the way of taking care of City parks and pools.
