Cummins Incorporated Leader to Speak in Buffalo

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – As some auto manufactures in the Western New York region struggle to keep up with the global economy, one area facility is actually doing very well.

World-wide Cummins Incorporated operates one of its largest diesel engine facilities in Jamestown. The president and chief operating officer of Cummins will be the keynote speaker at Thursday night's annual World Trade celebration in Buffalo.

The Jamestown Engine Plant produces heavy duty diesel truck engines as well as exhaust components. It employs 1,300, making it the largest employer in Chautauqua County. President and COO Joseph Loughrey says they purchased the Jamestown plant in 1974. He says it has become an increasing important facility to the company.

Loughrey will be the featured keynote speaker at Thursday night's World Trade Celebration hosted each year by the World Trade Center Buffalo Niagara at the Buffalo Convention Center.
