Buffalo, NY – The fight to tear down the Grand Island Tolls is in full swing. Proposed Legislation is now drafted and could soon appear on the agenda of the State Legislature.
Grand Island businessman Rus Thompson says a piece of legislation that he helped create has been assigned bill numbers in both the Assembly and Senate.
The proposed legislation calls to turn over Niagara Section of the State Thruway Authority to the State Department of Transportation. Thompson and other lawmakers who support the idea say this would free up funding to bring an end to the Grand Island Tolls.
