Buffalo, NY – The legal cloud hanging over Lynn DeJac was lifted Thurday when a judge officially dismissed all the charges lodged against her for the 1993 death of her daughter.
DeJac served 13 years in prison after being convicted of killing 13-year-old Crystallyn Girard. She was released from prison in November based on new DNA evidence. Then two weeks ago, District Attorney Frank Clark announced Crystallyn had died of a cocaine overdose and was not the victim of a homicide.
DeJac told reporters outside the court that she's relieved and now wants to move on with her life.
DeJac's attorney says he will file a civil suit for wrongful imprisonment.
