Winter Storm Warning

Buffalo, NY – Snow which began falling before daybreak Tuesday morning will continue at varying intensities throughout the day and tonight.

The period of heaviest snow is likely to be from late Tuesday afternoon through much of the night. Total snow accumulations by Wednesday afternoon are expected to range from six to ten inches across the Buffalo area and up to 14 inches near Lake Ontario.

North to northwest winds will increase Tuesday night with gusts approaching 30 mph. This will result in some blowing and drifting snow.

The snow may also mix with sleet in the Southern Tier.

The National Weather Service is continuing a winter storm warning through 12noon Wednesday for all of Western New York.
