Former City Hall Commissioner No Longer Seeks Control Board Job

By Eileen Buckley

Buffalo, NY – A former financial leader from City Hall says he has decided NOT to seek a control board job.

James Milroy, who once served as the City's commissioner of finance, is no longer a candidate for executive director for the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority. Milroy tells WBFO News he decided not to seek the position and withdrew his application.

Milroy left City Hall in 2006. That's when he accepted the position of director of budget and financial analysis at Geneseo. But recently he was one of two finalist seeking the control board job. The other candidate is Darryl McPherson, the city's chief auditor and the former legal advisor to the control board.

Milroy says he initially considered the control board job because of his long-time financial work for the City
