School Board Approves Appointment of Special Investigator in Kincannon Case

By WBFO News

Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Board of Education Wednesday night approved the appointment of a special investigator into the case of recently suspended McKinley High School student Jayvonna Kincannon, and the dismissal of volunteer basketball coach Michelle Stiles.

Kincannon was banished from school for seven weeks on charges that she violated school rules by wearing a hoodie, and by using a cell phone in school. The suspension was cut to five weeks, and she returned to school on Monday.

Superintendent James Williams says he welcomes the investigation, saying it will show that nothing improper was done by the district.

The School Board resolution, passed by a six to one vote, orders school staffers and board members to cooperate fully in the probe, and to provide funding as needed.
