Buffalo, NY – The City's Mobile Response Unit has set a record amount of arrests for January.

Buffalo's Mobile Response Unit is designed to target and eliminate areas of high crimes, as well as guns, gangs and drugs. January was a record-setting month. The unit made more than 300 arrests.

Mayor Byron Brown says this unit is making a difference in fighting city crime. Deputy police commissioner Daniel Derenda says two more German shepherds have been added to the Mobile Response Unit to assist the canine team

Since the Mobile Response Unit was established a year ago, it has registered well over 2,000 arrests.
