Council Member Proposes Bills Stadium for Perry Projects Site

By Mark Scott

Buffalo, NY – The Buffalo Common Council voted Tuesday to begin discussions on a proposal that could lead to construction of a new stadium downtown for the Buffalo Bills.

Ellicott District Council Member Brian Davis is proposing a site at the Perry Housing Projects at South Park Avenue and Perry Street. Davis says the site is ideal because of its proximity to the Niagara section of the Thruway.

The Buffalo Bills lease for use of Ralph Wilson Stadium expires in five years. Millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent in the past decade to keep the 34-year-old stadium up-to-date.

State Senator Antoine Thompson has also been pushing for a new stadium in downtown Buffalo.
