Buffalo, NY – Buffalo school administrators showed off a newly-renovated Bennett High School Sunday.
Alumni, students and staff were invited to an open house following the completion of two years of work. Classrooms were added or enlarged.
Schools Superintendent James Williams says the cost of the renovations far exceeded the original cost of building the school.
"This school was built in 1920 at a cost of $2 million," Williams said. "It was $30 million to do the renovations."
About 100 alumni joined current students for yesterday's rededication. The class of 1956 pledged $40,000 to equip the school's science labs.
